HOWSER Public Safety offers many unique safety programs that can be tailored to your staff development and business needs. We also have the expertise to assist your business create emergency preparedness/action plans including those mandated by OSHA.

Many businesses offer the following courses either as a requirement or on a voluntary basis as part of an employee benefit program.

MANAGING WORKPLACE & PERSONAL STRESS

A wonderful addition to enhance your Employee Assistance Program. This course discusses the causes of stress, the positive and negative consequences of stress and a personal action plan to manage stress. There is also information for supervisors specific to supervisory stress and assisting employees under stress.

HIGH ALERT – A Workplace Violence Awareness Workshop

This workshop discusses the latest internal and external security concerns that all businesses face in our changing world. Violent act warning signs, action plans and surviving the violent workplace event are discussed. This course is tailored to meet your specific needs.

UNTIL HELP ARRIVES

This course reviews first aid skills that can be performed by anyone to assist a person who is ill or injured until professional help arrives. This course discusses different types of medical emergences, splinting and bandaging techniques, the Heimlich maneuver, managing a burn and assisting the professional rescuer when they arrive. We will also review your business’ first aid kit with your employees or assist you in creating a low cost, appropriate first aid kit.

WORKPLACE INJURY PREVENTION

This workshop discusses the specific risks that your employees face daily at work. Everything from lower back injury prevention to proper ergonomics in the office or on the assembly line is discussed. This workshop may be divided into several different workshops or presented as an overview.

HEALTHY LIVING

The best way to prevent the costly event of replacing sick employees is to retrain them on healthy living habits. Specific topics include keeping your heart healthy, easy exercises and hiding from your family’s and co-worker’s germs.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS & YOU

Why would you need a training course on this? Simple right, take it off the wall pull the pin, point and shoot. But do you use the "ABC" or "CO2" extinguisher? When is the last time you practiced? This course explains the differences in extinguishers, helps employees decide which type to have for proper protection at homes and allows employees to practice using extinguishers. This type of training is an OSHA requirement for some businesses.

ADULT CPR

This basic (4) hour course teaches you to perform CPR, Rescue Breathing and Obstructed Airway Rescue techniques on adult patients
